Brisbane City - Fiesta De Verano

Fiesta de Verano is Brisbane City Council's annual summer Latin festival.

This project was part of the Typography subject of the Diploma of Graphic Design at Torrens University and required the design of a four-page A5 brochure using supplied logos, copy, images, and vector assets. The festival wordmark was to be the hero element on the front cover.

To give the festival a distinctive identity, I customised a bold typeface by introducing additional serifs, accents, and decorative cut-outs inspired by traditional Latin American motifs. This created a vibrant, handcrafted feel while ensuring the festival name remained the primary visual focus. A modern typeface with excellent readability was then paired with the custom wordmark to provide clear contrast and support the body copy.

The supplied vector assets were recoloured to complement the chosen palette, creating a more cohesive visual identity throughout the brochure.
